Caliper interchangeability

Post by i_cruise »

This topic has been covered a million times i'm sure but i cant seem to find any threads on it, but I'd like to fit 6 pot calipers from a ZX-7R in lieu of the 4 pots on my 93' L1 ZXR750. Are they a straight swap? do they have the same bolt spacing???

I think it is possible- your callipers are the same as ZZR1100 AFAIK, and the owners of those often put 6 pots on, with only spacers because the mounting bolts are thinner. Have a look over at www.bigbikeworld.com Plenty on there have done the mod. :)
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

That conversion involves the 6 pots from the Suzuki GSXR1000 K1-2 with 63mm(?) centres. The other common swap is the Nissin 4 pots off a Fireblade.
