a cop come over to me today asking was my bike a road bike or a race bike !!! he knew my name from doing a rego check before i got back to my bike from where it was parked as he was checking it when i got back there ... Defect on front indicators seems they was flush mount & didn't poke out enough & to low to see.. that's how they are standard !!
Defect on rear indicators .. integrated taillight
Defect no mirrors even tho you head check after looking into mirrors so why look in mirrors 1st if your gonna head check after why not just look straight away !!

mirrors are a must... if not well a defect

but a lot of the kwakas have integrated taillights but are deemed defective if not fixed to Australian regulations... in japan the bike is fine coz they made it that way but here... we just have to be different i suppose...

ahh Mal, whats happened, someone finally caught up with ya. Ah don't worry about it. I am sure there is some dodgy up in Launie who will clear the defect sticker off it for $50 cash in hand!!

Don't let him ruin your day any more than he has already. Do what needs to be done, even if temporarily. Maybe we should organise a pool of standard gear to help out in these situations. I'm a fairly recent newbie so this might already be in place.

I'd be fighting the front indicators are they are stock. Rest ya just have to suck up. You knew taking the mirriors off was illegal, and I'd guess knew about the intergrated tail light too.

Unfortunately lots of bling attracts all the wrong kind of attention.

might put standard mirrors back on till after inspection then put me pig spotter mirrors on later
Taillight dunno if to leave them indicators plugged in as well as put some tiny ones each side of numberplate & say to the inspecting officer .. stand 50 meters back & see what indicators stand out when turning
Im gonna go off about the front indicators they are built that way the only thing with them is the lenses are green but one day a transport inspector pulled me up & i asked was green lenses ok & he said yes as long as they light up amber color when in use &s with green taillight also that lights up red when in use

i think integrated ARE legal in tassie mal, i had one on my 10 and i never got pulled over and i also asked service tas (even tho they are deadbeats) and they said as long as it works.... I asked a traffic cop and he said its no problem either.........

hmmmmm very strange

sounds like robocop got a knockback from the missus that morning. you should see if you can find the equivalent of this as a guideline, andthis for the legislation for tassie. according to qld legislation, rear indicators should be 300mm apart from center of either light. states differ, so see if you can get hold of the actual law for it. as for the front ones, if the bike is manufactured/sold with flushmounts, the cops can't do a damn thing as motorvehicles are SUPPOSED to comply with regulations PRIOR to being sold. fight the fuckers.

[edit] slow morning at work, so i've saved you some time and effort. HERE is what i could find for tassie. pretty much the same as qld, and i would hazard a guess it's pretty much the same everywhere is regards to indicators/lighting. hope this helps
