Hi Guys,
Just stumbled across this site and post - I'm the bloke who:
"just wants someone to clean all the shit he dosn't want out his shed and pay him for the pleasure" and
"sounds a bit dodgy.....maybe he was just to lazy to do individual ads with pricing for each item ??"
I'm afraid it isn't really dodgy at all and if I were to do individual ads for all the parts I would be here for a good part of the year putting in ads for a few dollars. There are literally hundreds of parts.
I did put my phone number and name and I DID WRITE IN CAPITALS PLEASE NOTE THE $0 PRICE ON THIS AD DOES NOT APPLY.
The reason I put free on the advert is that I don't know another way of specifying on gumtree that there isn't one price. Is there a way?
I haven't got to the point of cataloguing/sorting everything (that's supposed to be happening this weekend when I'm going to be putting it all INTO the shed) and deciding what I'm keeping/not keeping and if somebody else has a more pressing need then that might take precedence over my as yet unstarted project.
I may be accused of laziness for not putting up more pictures of all the other bits and pieces but all I'm trying to do is say "Hey, I've got lots of parts, I won't use them all, give me a ring and come and have a look if you want and we can talk about price".
I'm quite happy to ring a wreckers with any buyer and get prices on parts and then work out something a fait bit less than that or whatever we both think is fair.
Most of the parts look to me to be quite useable/restoreable - though I'm pretty sure three of the whole engines are seized.
There are at least two starter motors working which Zpower in the UK are asking about $700 for - seems ludicrous really but I guess they're new, bloody hope so.
And yes there are a couple of primary chains I think (or was that in jest?). Gos you would probably have a better idea than me if primary chains are re-useable?
I have a 1976 Z650 which I use daily now and would like to keep enough parts to make sure I can keep it going.
Also as a project over time I would like to rebuild one of the bikes - probably for my second daughter when she gets to riding age (some reservations here).
But there's not much point in having a stack of parts I'm never going to use is there - and as I said there's enough for two bikes.
And they are lovely, classic bikes so they should get back on the road.
Sorry Gos but I paid considerably more than $200 for the lot so I'm less than inclined to accept that amount and quite happy if anybody needs parts for them to give me a buzz if and when. Nobody is making anybody buy anything.
Incidentally, Gos, your posts are very informative, thank you.
