A girl just wanted to shop.....

I was feeling the need for some retail therapy today so armed with best gal pal in hand BlackCat and I hit the shops!

The plan was to come home with 3 things:
1. Sidi Vertigo or Puma 1000 boots
2. Oxford Sprint Tank'n'Tail bag
3. Z750 keyring

And the scorecard at the end of the day?
1. Fail
2. Fail
3. Fail
.........and not through lack of trying!!

We started off at BikeBiz's main store (Hi Hoffy - we did see you....I was wondering why a biker was nodding to us while we were waiting to cross the road, how did he know we were bikers?? ...der blondy, it's Hoffy!!). Great service at BikeBiz and good stock levels, but no smaller sizes in the boots, no bags and no keyring.

Then it was across the road to Actions. Enuf said. They are good for one thing.....bartering down prices on bikes. I don't know why they bother with an accessories department really.

MCAS was next on the list. I have always had great experiences with the staff there and they bent over backwards to find what I wanted but since that place moved they have half the stock they used to .......I'm sure its not just an illusion from the increase in physical space. Anyway, pass, next!

The Helmet Warehouse/Budget Bikes was the next stop. That place has really picked up recently. More stock and the best service I received all day. Nearly had some luck with the boots.....one size off! Damn.

Off to Aitkens next to pick up my pillion seat that i had left there the week before when I had the cowl fitted on KWAK. 10 out of 10 for service! No stock - which is fair enough considering the size of the business but when I ordered the cowl the week before I was told it would take 2 days and that I'd get a call. It took 2 days and I got a call. Perfect! Shame they aren't located closer to my end of the world.

One more stop for the day to the other BikeBiz store. Good service again like their bigger store, but no stock....although the big fella said the keyrings would be in next week.

So, all in all, I'm exhausted from driving around Sydney all day and I failed on all 3 accounts. Guess I'll jump on ebay and see what I can find!!!

One good thing though - I found out there is a new Sidi boot out soon - a LADIES race boot!!!!! Yay......now, back to ebay......

Thanks guys - Yep, Sam rocks and I'm sure she'd get it all in for me. I supposed I was just pissed because I set about doing my research to see what shops stocked what and checked the websites, etc before I went but even if the website shows they have stock doesn't mean they have actually have stock. Very annoying. What can I say......it's a chick thing

Just thought I'd provide an update on the shopping trip.........and give a big plug to BikeBiz Parra (the old one, not the Parra Rd one).

I gave Bikebiz a call on Thursday and ordered the boots over the phone. Adam and Elise provided exceptional service and did a whole lot of calling around to get them in as quickly as possible. Where everyone else was quoting a few weeks for getting them in, those guys found a pair and got them on a special delivery so I could pick them up on the Monday.

They called me back to update me on the progress and to let me know when they arrived and the face to face service was just as good as the over-the-phone – polite, professional and efficient.

I was so happy with the experience that I wrote a letter to the Manager Tuesday to let him know how happy I was and today I received a call from him to follow up and say thanks.

Now I’m, not saying that you don’t get good service elsewhere (Brent at Aitkens is fab but they are sooo far away, Sam at Maw always looks after us and that dodgy looking guy down at Sydney City Lane Cove is pretty good :kuda: ) but I felt that BikeBiz went above and beyond the standard on this occasion in all areas so I thought it worthy of a plug.

Now……..the boots better bloody get me that 1.36 lap at the creek that they promised me!!!!!

Thats easy there's a slip road between corners 5 & 9 ;)

I had a similar experience with MCAS. No stock so ordered some small items and rang them back a week later to be told they would ring me once the goods had arrived. That was mid March

Couple of questions - where/what is MAW? And what about The Helmet Warehouse/Budget Bikes?

My girl just wanted to shop last Saturday so we went on a mission to buy a pair of boots from Sydney. Bikebiz in Parra city had nuthin, so we jetted off to the store down Parra Road. She picked up the last pair in the shop of these (top left, in green):

Berik GPX

Bonus is she doesn't like the fit so unless they grow on her I might end up with them and we might be up for another mission, where are the two places above and what's the range of boots like?
