Im sitting here thinking, do I <really> want the ZX14SE with the black CF yoshi....................

I could be frugal and buy a second hand 08.....

The only possible spanner in the works comes in the form of a dark horse shaped like a ZX10, now, im 99.7% certain thats way way way too much ride for me, however some feedback from someone who actually owns one of the new beasties will be of some benefit between now, and probably next monday.

its been 18 months since a working motorsickle resided in my shed, way too frigging long by any definition

Easy ;

One is comfy , fast , and a reasonable tourer / allrounder.

Other is reserved for those of us with that crazy unhinged kinda gaze who have little regard for such practical , responsible values ....

depends what you want it for mate.

if you try and ride a 14 like a 10 you will get yourself into trouble. the other way around it may not be as bad. plus they are doing killer deals on the 10 atm

The 14 is great on the street but not very forgiving when you push it hard. Effortless to ride "normally", best street bike out there.

I had the same problem last year........ it was time for the ZZR1100 to go and I was undecided between the 14 and the 10........ I really wanted to keep the 11 and get a 9 or 10 trackie but i couldn't justify owning two bikes (so she told me).....

I ended up getting the 10 and am totally wrapped with it.

I havn't done more than 400 klms in a day or a big weekend, so I won't know untill Phillip Island (October) what it's like on a real big ride.... Only had a chance to do one track day so far, but was an excellent day.........

I guess you gotta decide what your going to do with the bike....... and get the bike that suits your needs.........

You wouldn't take a 14 to the track, but you can take a 10 on the longer rides............. That's where I made my decision.

I cant say what the '07 is like, but I rode my bug from Toowoomba to PI via Adelaide last year, did Toowoomba to Adelaide in 2 days, and i can honestly say, the 10's aren't exactly the most comfortable bike to ride over long distance You can however, discover new and interesting positions to ride in after your first day in the saddle. Don't wear a backpack either (really dumb idea, never doing that again ) The bike handled the trip really well, it was my body and the back tyre that suffered.

I know where you are comming from, on the 400 k trip i felt it in my back and my wrists/hands.

My weight seemed to lean forward onto to bars all day... but once aware of it, I found if i gripped more loosly and bent my elbows a bit it was more comfortable, I wasn't sure if it was just me being used to the easy ride of the 11, but after these few changes it improved greatly.........

Solve all your problems and buy a ZRX1200!! They do it all...and in comfort!

the gumby is totally different from the bug. Gumby have lower rearsets and a wider softer seat and less pressure on the wrists. Gumby is definitly more touring orientated. I guess you get used to what you own though

what bike would be less comfortable? a 600 supersport maybe. But i dont think you get a less relaxed riding postion then a 1000/600 superbike, but thats why they are crazy fast

Im assuming the Gumby is a 14 and the bug is a 10?

Aside from the obvious physical comfort issues in the 10 v 14 debate, I dont know why, but ive always preferred what people would class as "lazy" engines, lotsa torque, tool around in 6th all day etc.

I have no doubt the 10's engine, while it will be undoubtedly fast, will need to be ridden like a squirrell on speed (youve all seen over the hedge)

Im going with the 14, ive got 3 quotes that are in the ballpark (actually I had 7 but 3 of the shops either didnt take me seriously, or think RRP is the only number that exists and Flywheels, in spite of efforts, couldnt find me a black)
