the biggest thing to keep you alive until you get used to traffic.......drive for everyone else.
remember, carsdont really care whos around them, especially bikes, so ride like they are ALWAYS going to do something stupid around you. Also try and keep a good buffer between you and the car in front even if it means slowing down and loosing ground. better that than a trip in a meat wagon.
Above all, have fun with it.

Hiy Bruce, welcome to the club and the wonderful world of two wheels.
?My tip of the day " Dont hold on to tight or your hands will go numb" haha, dude just relax and enjoy yourself, worst thing to do is hold on to tight, i remember omebody saying on here to grip the grips like your holding a sponge, try that and you will enjoy yourself alot better.
And then again where are you from anyway, if your a HCC sydney rider head up to the old road on sunday morning, it a nice relaxing ride with mates and you ride at your own pace and learn shit loads from others.

thanks everyone for the welcome msg and tips i'll take it to heart . i'm from the south side of Melb . gonna be a bit hard to hit the roads with all you sydney two-wheelers . i've noticed that at the lights all the car drivers dont seems to like you very much . they looks at you all funny and shit . im still having trouble get the rwc done . since i brought the bike pretty cheap the owner didnt get one upon sale . i took it to the mech to have a look . the engine department seems fine . fresh oil and all that . but the igition box is not road worthy cos you can pull the key out while the enigne is running and also the bike has a after market pipe which leaves a ring in your ears after a few revs . got any ideas where to pick a cheap stock pipe and igition box just for the rwc or should i post somewhere else ?
