Hi everybody,

While crusing fleabay tonight in the search of.....well bugger all actually...I found this item -

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0382609343

Vid to see it in action -

http://www.dailymotion.com/dailyhel/vid ... k-lock-eba

Looks interesting. I tend to take my helmet with me rather than leave it behind. If I had a top box I'd probably lock it in that.

Any thoughts or opinions on this item tho? Looks quite interesting.

Cheers,
Wayne :D

I had enough trouble with the underseat hooks once, let alone the time it takes to do the above. So Ill just stick to carrying it around with me :P

I have always used the hooks under the pillion seat (when the bike has them) without problem. A guy I know had his helmet secured the same way as I do and they cut the chin strap to steal the helmet, it was a rossi replica. That's what you get for having a rossi replica.

This is a good idea, but if you are going to have a lock like that might as well get a Kryptonite lock (spelling?) that you can put through the rear wheel or front so that it secures the bike and helmet from theft, well reduces the opportunity.

well, the idea of being able to walk around "aahns free" sure sounds good..

looks as though if you're not interested in carrying your helmet into work or around with you, then it'd be a great idea...just would worry about it being knocked about parked near other motorbikes..

If you leave it out there like that you can can bet some asshole will see it and wanna check it out. and even if they don't mange to piss off with your helmet the first time they could damage it pretty badly trying. Or they'll know where there is a perfectly good helmet next time they're in town with the bolt cutters!!

Ive used the lock device under the pillion seat twice only when parked in front of a camera in a secure carpark, but prefer to carry it.

that device looks good, however one of my main reasons for carrying my helmet as much of a PIA that it is..... vandals may damage it, piss in it, or something to that effect. Anything shiney and expensive people low life scum feel obliged to steal or vandalise :x
