Braking, crusing, turning

Hey guys I'm really curious, firstly about braking. I've looked into it a bit and from what I gather you use the front brake first (gently) then apply the back brake, while down shifting mind you. so I'm just thinking if you have to open up the throttle a little to bring the revs up for down shifting (cause apparently if you just let the clutch go the back wheel will slide)how do you keep even pressure on the front brake. It seems to me you'd have to let go of the brake to use the throttle. I know its gonna be just under two months before i start riding but I'd like to have everything down packed and I cant stop thinking about it. also when cruising at say 80kmph in a car I'd have it in fifth gear and cruise at 2200rpm how would this differ on say a zzr250r do I want to keep the revs low or high... will it wear the engine out if I keep em high?. also when turning which brake should I not use and if i feel i need to slow down in a turn how would I go about it. Thanks guys I can''t wait to hear what you guys have to say!!! :D :D :D

well....

the front brake, practice will be needed, but basicly. You apply the front brake with your fingers, and squeeze the throttle with your thumb and palm wrapped around it. sounds odd, but its quite easy when doing it. practice is your garage... 8)

your bike will proabably be doing as bit more revs than 2200rpm. more like 4-5000 i think. but yeah, its a smaller engine revs will be higher, it wont hurt it.

top gear at 80 will be fine, probably even top gear at 60 on the little 2fiddy.

you can use you front brake while turning, but only a little. generally you do all your braking before the corner, if you only want to wash a little speed off then use you rear. too much rear brake and the rear can slide.

80% of your braking will be done with the front. you will find the rear brake hardly works. 8)

As you are new to bikes Dont use your front brake while turning in fact you shouldnt be useing your brakes while turning.Make sure you are set up , as in approching at the right speed & in the right gear before you get to the corner.Saying that more experianced riders can touch /ride the rear whilst cornering and if they really have to a bit of front but in my opinion the front is well left alone as it will stand the bike up.Also be very well aware of target fixation as this is also something which can be dangerous. If you find yourself a bit hot into a corner and start heading for the bushes RESIST and look through the corner and push down on those bars.Hope thats a bit helpfull
