Can I cry now?

I tried to get the best of both worlds this weekend at P.I. Superbikes, and it seems this is not always the best option. Seeing as my tent is a 6 person tent, and huge, it really doesn't travel very well on the bike. My van is perfectly comfortable to sleep in, but who wants to turn up at the track in a van. So why not take the bike in the van, sleep in the van and go to the track on the bike.
Great plan, awesome weekend.
Unfortunately my beautiful ZX10R decided it was such a long weekend, that a nice lay down in the back of the van was called for
I was lining up for the ramps, and decided to bounce the rear wheel over a bit so it was centre on the ramp, and that I had enough room to walk with the bike. Instead of bouncing over, the rear wheel slipped, then gripped and the inertia pulled the top of the bike over and out of my hands.
The only saving grace, and is that the tank found the inner wheel arch of the van and stopped any fairings touching down.
I am now the proud owner of a new dent...................

Oh noooo Mike!! That must be heartbreaking
As you say though, luckily the damage wasn't worse, if that is any consolation...

what a farker mate
it sux when that happens and then the what if's come into play
but the tank is prob the best spot to take the hit , not that any part of a bike is the best part to take the hit
but it could have been a lot worse
but in any case its still sux

OUCH! geez that would hurt the soul as much as the bike!!!! Can it be pulled out ? looks liek quite a clean press rather than a dent!

Kawasaki want $2100 for a tank - and I know if I go through the insurance they will want to patch and bog the tank. I don't want bog in my tank
Perhaps I can persuade the minister for war and finance to let me convert it into a track bike and get a new one for the road?

That's a bummer Mike. Check out the formula extreme site as well. It's a pretty good source for parts
