New plan...Zzr600 'fighter to go on a major diet

Been giving this zxr4/zzr6 idea some thought.....Compliance,engineering etc.....all adds up...
So I finally got around to pulling some of the bits off the zzr...stock exhaust,tank seat unit etc....Put it on the scales and it was about 160-170 kg (dry weight,stock exhaust weighed 12kg alone !!)
So the boss tried it for size and found she could move it around as easy as...lower seat and less weight..."I could ride this easy" were her words....
So before I get involved in frame swapping I'm gonna give this a go....
Got a zxr400 f/end (should bolt straight on) and rear wheel...
I'm going to remove the lowering links from the rear suspension and I'm going to make a new rear subframe to get the seat as low as possible.
I'll be changing the swing arm too...its got a huge cast lump at the front....must be summat lighter out there...
I've put a wanted ad up for the various bits for sale or swap....

You could probably also get a more efficient but smaller radiator.... that would reduce the weight ...

F model ZX6R swingarm will fit with a bit of machining (though the same could be said about a lot of others!). They're a bit shorter, which would sharpen the handling somewhat.

The coolant hoses look a bit messy on the ZZR - I've often thought that about my own. I wonder if something could be adapted to clean it all up. The ZX9R has a big radiator with small coolant lines going down around a collar before the oil filter for oil cooling. Maybe something like that (to get rid of the factory cooler) would clean up the front a bit and save a bit of weight, too.

Cheers for the tips fellas....I hadn't thought about the rad I must admit...
I did some weighing today....
'98 R1 rear wheel with sprocket/disc and 180 tyre weighed 3kg less than zzr6 wheel etc with 160 tyre.
Same R1 arm with no spindles weighed 2.5 less than zzr6....
Seems the plan might not be too far fetched...
