Resprey my Z new colour!

Post by Saki »

Hey guys,

Well i purchased my Z for quite a good price because it has a little damage on it. Now its easily fixed and barely noticable but it basically needs to have a few of the peices of the body respreyed. I was just going to opt for the easy option which was to get it done in the same colour. The bike is red (see ava pic -->)

I was talking to a mate today though about different colours on bikes and then the idea sparked, that for only a few hundred more i can have the entire bike respreyed really any colour!

So to be a bit different, i was thinking of getting it done in simply White. Just plain bright glossy white and leave all the other trimming's as they are. So the wheels will have the polish band with the black centre and get the tyre hugger also done in either black or white as that too is red!

What do others feel about this idea or any other colours people can suggest. Not really interested in Bright Candy Apple Harliquin Metallic fluro this that and the other. I like plain glossy colours but just unsure what. I was thinking white because white on bikes (ie 848, 09 ZX10R) i think is different and i havent seen another White Z either!

ideas people!

Thanks

The only downside to changing from manufacturers colours is the resale value, but if you aren't selling it...........why worry ;)

Change it to white - buy a high vis green jacket - white helmet and watch how many more cars actually notice you
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

on zx10-r.net, there is "ZKING" which is a Z with a zx10 engine. its painted white. i think it looks awesome 8)

the hugger will be a pain. you'd be better getting aftermarket one. its moulded that colour and will chip real easy. get a CF jobbie from somewhere ;)

Actually 2 good suggestions there! I think CF hugger will be the go and yes i was thinking a light pearl also.

I think for resale i dont tink it will hurt it to badly! I am going with a pretty standard colour so if someone was after a Z and it was the right price for them i reckon it shouldnt be to bad. If it was some fancy metallic colour thats another story.

I intend however once its been painted to stick all the factory stickers back on, IE tank badges, and the Z1000 on the ducktail to give it that factory look!

Yes re badge it to look like stock, +1 on the white & CF 8)
Flying tampons are all the rage seeing as the 09Ten will be sporting this livery, but basically I would blame Ducati Paul for starting it :P

pffft more like the master!

Ah i just figure it will be nice to do something different plus if i gotta fork out $1000 to have it repaired and painted in the same colour, might aswell pick a new colour!

Plus there isnt much that comes out in plain white! Plus will give me some more Streetfighter Cred! ;)
Wish i could have a Simpson Super Bandit too (Black one)

I don't think the white bike on the white background quite works
