I was just looking at the Aussie Superbike championship this year - no round at Phillip Island. Anyone know why this is? It seems the last round is back at EC where the first round was. Tis a bugger coz I was gonna go and cheer em all on.

There hasn't been a round of the ASC at P.I. for a couple of years now.
But thats about to change with the new promoter...
Unfortunately EC loses a round and the only one there is in the middle of winter.. :x

They are now having ASC rounds with the WSB and Moto GP..

Three at the island and one at the creek seems weird, but the Calder round may be interesting (and closer to the city).

Hopefully we will see more championship rounds at more venues next year, increased sponsership, and some TV coverage. We certainly have the big talented riders to entertain.
I think you need TV coverage in OZ due to the big distances to travel, to keep the fan base and get new people interested enough to attend their local round.
To not have a championship round at PI (outside of MotoGP and WSB) for the last few years was a crime, its the best circuit bar none.
I'm hoping I can go to NSW, VIC, and SA rounds next year...

Yeh Al you will fit in nicely in SA they apprantly dont mind there spectators doing nudie runs , and isnt A.I.R a Anthrax song ?? and what I've heard a goat track with grass growing on the main straight (reported to me from my SA mate Jamie ).

Much better than the old aus-superbikes.com.au site IMO. I'm looking forward to next year!

Dave, have you and Wattie got your applications in for the factory Kwaka team yet? Last I heard they were at EC trackdays begging people to try riding the zx10r superbike and offering 50 year contracts to anyone who could survive a lap on it :D

Good to see that the tassie round is now in march :D The weather is usually pretty good at that time of year and the crowd would be a lot bigger I recon, cause it was really, really cold this year
