Two sets of rules...

I'm not known for being a big fan of the police after being on the wrong end of a couple of (in my opinion) bad decisions/poor policing, and on the wrong end of bad service when I actually needed the assistance of police regarding an actual crime.

As a result, seeing the whole "two sets of rules" thing in play drives me INSANE :x . I know it's just coincidence to see all this in a week or two but:

1. Marked police motorcycle doing 125km/h in a 100km/h zone. Saw him from a mile off as he had his lights on (high beam, not lights & sirens!!), flew up to me and flew past like I wasn't even there. This is probably the same bloke who sits on that same section of road (just near Logan Rd Exit from SE Freeway) and books people for going 10km/h over because they're such a danger to society, and themselves.

2. Marked police motorcycle leaving Kangaroo Point Night Owl/Subway, walks out casually, gets on the bike (late model beamer) and stomps it down the (50km/h) street to a conservative 80km/h (More like 90-100km/h, he went through three gears and was fairly into it...) then bashes it straight back to first and compression locks for half a second as getting to the end of the street (give way sign).

3. Marked police car stopped at an intersection where he had right of way, paying no attention to traffic, while talking on a mobile phone.

Makes me WILD

What we witnessed was worse!

We knew it was an unmarked red Aurion. But they deicided they didnt need to give way to pedestrians, the light was red, the man was green, people didnt noticed. The light went green cop took off aorund hte corner, and the pedestrians started to walk, basically the cop car drove right between the pedestrians ans scared the shit out of 1 of them as they nearly got run over and the bloke punched the cop car and the cop kept driving. Then the cop with no sirens on drove through not 1, not 2 but 3 red lights. We looked on in disblief.

So we rang 000 straight away and put in a complaint. We knew it was an unmarked cop car, but we rang 000 as if we had no idea and it was just some deadbeat.

But i always see cops in cars just going hell for leather everywhere, 70 in 50 zones etc etc, biker cops in tas seem to be vigilant tho! Some even nod at you... Some!

I spose the only thing u can do is take hte rego and ring up and complain or go face to face with an officer and make a complaint. Dunno if it will get noticed but guess there is nothing else u can do hey!
Unless you become Vigilante!

I'd just like to thank the 3 police officers (in separate highway patrol vehicles) who allowed me to continue on my way without delay at +$1.30, first on the Buckets then on the Waterfall Way yesterday. Double demerits and all would of made it pretty nasty.......
