New bike - fell in trailer

So I picked up an 07 Special Edition zx10r the other day, the last one available I was told, and on the way home from the dealer it fell over in the trailer.
I had the side stand down so it must have happened on a right turn, either that or obviously the stand must be faulty. The dealer tried to tell me I needed tie downs or something, I figured he was just tryin to sell me more useless stuff.

Do you think I can weld the frame back together and plastiweld the fairings.?

I tried buffing the damage out but the buffer pad kept tearing on all the sharp edges... After the 23rd one I gave up on that.

Being the Special edition collectors item model I'm keen to get it back on the road so any help sourcing some after market parts like blinkers, levers, and original parts like fairing, frame, wheels and engine, would be appreciate..

Can I claim this under warranty, if not will it effect my future warranty.???

Must've been trying to negotiate a roundabout huh?

...and how about introducing yourself. The site owner here is a real bastard and hates people posting without introducing themselves

What grade buffer pad are you using? maybe start out with something coarser? Can you take it back to the shop and tell them it was like that when you collected it but you didn't notice until you got it home?

no need to sell it.

a couple of rolls of sticky tape and she's as good as new.

your local news agent or woollworths should have a couple of different varieties to choose from.

just give the parts that you are going to stick together a splash of prepwash or alike to remove any polish, road grime or oil

so as to give maximum adhesion.

Things are looking up, I took it for a spin around the block and everything seems ok, maybe even better.
It drops into corners sooo much faster now I almost ran off the road, not sure if thats due to the less weight without the fairings and the other unnecassery stuff, the revised rake and steering angle, the frame flex or the oil dripping onto the rear tyre from the busted engine case but whatever it is, I LIKE IT.!!!

If the warranty claim doesn't come thru, I think I may turn it into a track bike... perfect for tracks with lots of rights me thinks..

I figure I duct tape the holes in the engine case and the frame so the scrutneers don't see it (and too help hold it together) and I can get it on the track..
