G'day guys and gals,

well went into few different shops today and have organised to take an 08 ZX10R and 08 CBR1000 for a test run. For people who own or ridden these bikes, what should i be expecting, any pro's and con's for either bike ?

Cheers guys

Now there's a left-of-centre option for a bloke comparing two '08 model litre class sportsbikes

Yeah to be honest, i would most likely place Hondas at the bottom of my list, but i keep reading all this good stuff about them so i would like to give it a go!
I am obviously more interested in the Ninja. If i like it i might get myself one in the not to distant future perhaps!
I also found out they only come out here in Aus in Green, Black and Orange.....

Hmmm green is the obvious choice, but had a brand spanker green 636, then theres the orange ZX10R, so now what ? Black seems like hte only options left!

Fark...none of the current bikes are bad...just buy the one you like the look of best, and preferably one with a K on the tank.

That is my problem! (or my saving grace) I usually get loyal to a brand. I dont really give other brands a chance, but the few times i have ridden other brand bikes i think i know why i stuck with Kawasaki! ZX2R was the first and only 250 i ever rode and i loved it!

I usually always stick with Toyota's also, but i guess there is some logic in that also!

I think the ZX10R is the most attractive out of this quirky bunch of 1000's, the CBR looks like a deformed Bumble Bee especially in yellow, R1 is still to yesteryear, and GSXR well same boat!

So only few more hours to go and i get my hands on one! Can't wait!

I like the R1, it's very nice, but the Bug is also growing on me alot...it is a very agressive looking bike, I'd buy one for sure, in green i'd say.

I dont like the Gixxer or Blade though..

Yes the R1 has a nice "bike" look to it, but i guess thats why everyone who is a bike fan or not likes the R1 cause its pleasing to the eye. But to the trained "biker" eye i guess most look past that.
The Bug has grown on me too, with the mods u can do, like change the can and few other little tricks its quite a good looking beast!

I remember pulling up a servo getting fuel one day, i was on the 10 mate was on his R1.
When i was talking to the guy at the counter he was getting all excited cause we both had bright bikes, he was asking what year R1's they both were! When i corrected him and said only 1 was an R1, he said
"Oh so yours is the R1, but what is his bike!!!!"

Dam newbs! thinking everything is an R1
