Kudos to Collins Leathers

I've had a set of Collins leathers now for about 18 months, crashed once in them at the track and was quite happy with them. Leaving Walcha on Sunday of the Oxley run the zipper broke. I managed to get it sorted enough to wear them home, then did a trackday the following weekend and it broke again. I needed them fixed properly, I was so pissed off I missed a session because of a shitty zipper.

I was going to take the jacket to a leather repairer in Sydney, but decided to call Collins to see if they had any preferred repairers in Sydney. I spoke to Jocey who asked how old my leathers were, then offered to repair them for free - I just had to post the jacket to Cairns and they'd repair them then express post them back to me. It's great when a vendor stands by their products well after the sale.

I'd mentioned to Jocey that I was hoping to do a trackday today, so when there was a delay getting an alternate zipper (apparently the steel zippers aren't great, they've replaced it with a plastic one) Jocey contacted me and arranged to send my jacket overnight with Australian Air Express, all at no cost to me.

Suffice to say that these aren't just good value leathers, but they're pretty good in a crash and backed up by the manufacturer. I'd recommended Collins to anybody looking for a set of leathers.
