Hey guys

Not starting any time soon, just piecing together ideas and keeping an eye out for extra-cheap parts that may be useful.

Planning to do an A1 GPZ900R with ZZR600/ZX6R front & rear ends and 1000RX engine. There used to be a great site at http://www.gpz900r.org but it has since closed down and with it a lot of great information & photos have disappeared. Anyone who can refer me to some good info on similar conversions will be regarded highly, same for anyone who has any giveaway-type 'junk' in their shed that as a fellow KSRC member I might find useful in my project. I can forsee this costing a metric shitload so any corners I can cut by getting freebies/very cheap parts would be fantastic.

Fairings, wheels, brakes, engine parts, anything, really...

This might help a little with the info on the old site:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.gpz900r.org

Sounds like a good project. I've actually thought of doing up an A1 gpz900 for shits and giggles.

It's going to be a fairly long-term project as I don't really have cash to splash. The intention is to avoid wreckers as much as possible and build the bike from a lot of ebay/forum spares over a period of time. I know there's a lot of stuff that I have given away, or would have given away if I knew someone wanted them, but eventually junked.

By the time you look at getting a complete rear end with swingarm, wheel, brakes, etc from a wreckers the dollars really start adding up, when lots of people of forums like these tend to have odd bits and pieces lying around that, if you're not in a hurry, can be pieced together much more cheaply.
