Just thought I would let you know I will be racing at ASC this weekend in Superstock, on a Chrome and Gold R6 number 61.

Will be my first National race meeting, hoping to be able to run mid pack and maybe sneak into the top ten all things going well. Also hoping to not crash and wreck the pretty new paint job. 8)

Thanks and hope to see some of you out there.

Drmsby Middleton (hemiduty)

Good on you Hemi, go out there and kick some butt....unless of course it's a Kawasaki, then you need to take one for the team and let them past :) :)

There'll be a bunch from Brisbane Bikers and QMRF going to watch. Some of them are flag marshalls, too. I can't make it unfortunately.

Best of luck, mate. :D

Quick update:

Well I set a PB on a cold dirty track (1:16.8 ) and still feel like the bike has more in it. I am currently 4th on the time sheets (better than expected and STILL in front of Jamie Aitken - we had a bit of a battle too), but will need to keep finding more time as everyone will be on the improve tomorrow.

Everyone is loving the paint job, even though it was all a very rushed affair the thing does look good. I have had so many comments about it, it makes me think it is the most talked about bike of the entire show....

Just gotta keep this thing shiny long enough for everyone to see it on the weekend!

ha looked good sorry i had to rush off before i got to see you run :( but hey work is work and needs to be done.... the bike did look shiny i think noone noticed it was a rushed job because noone could look directly at it :)

on the upside it was my first time at queensland bumpway and it looked like fun.. im thinking of borrowing nannas crim sometime soon for a run.... (i bet he just had a cold shiver where ever he is)

good luck mate and really hope you give em hell with no spills

Good luck! I was planning on being there but am stuck 800Km away at the moment. If you ride like you did last time I watched you race (Morgan park on the R1) you will be right up with the best of them. Oh and no more attempted high-sides this time eh?

Nan & Pop Racing sent out their team Manager to give "Strawbs" a hand with Scrutineering, chair filling & advanced decal placement etc etc etc.
the Bike looks like a mirror flashing along the back straight in the afternoon sun, Just as well the competitors are able to remove the mirrors, I imagine it would look like a WRAITH zoning in on you I reckon'. :D

Anyway Leanne & the Kids we're awesome, (Would your Mrs remove ya back rim & help with a rear sprokect swap then re in stall it in under 5 minutes ..... I think not) Drmsby Junior junior was totally non blussed about it all & decided the middle of the pit bay was a little dry & nitrogen deficient & didn't hesitate to rectify the situation. thats the type of Support Strawbs has a family affair with everyone doing what they can to help.

Strawbs WAS smooth & controlled which saw gradual improvement in his times over the 3 sessions. It was the guys around him that were "out of the seat" on a few occassions. There's still more time to come tomorrow as he improves set up for the hard braking into turn 3 & 6. Onya Drmsby & remember race 2 Sunday IT's SHEEP STATIONS mate ;)

I should be out again late tomorrow & all day sunday To give Winden a spell from P-Biatchin'.
big Hugs Nanna.
