Alternate Master Cylinder for 05 Z750?

Has anybody changed over to a new master cylinder on their Z?
My brakes have improved ten-fold over standard since I put HEL braided lines and some new HH pads on! I just thought that if I could swap over to a different master that it would improve the feel.
Cheers
Ian

Not sure whats on the Z std, but a lot of ppl with zx10s find the zx6r master cylinder a better option,
or theres the Brembos..

I'd be using something OE as you could get it cheap from a wrecker, or even cheaper from ebay or a forum, and it will 99.99999% likely bolt straight on.
A radial master would be ideal (if they don't already have one?) but if you're already changed your brake lines then you don't want to do that.

Hi Ian,
What don't you like about your current braking setup?
The Z750's have a pretty competent braking system!
What fluid are you using?
What fork springs & oil are in there?
You could spend $1500 on Brembo's to then realise that a $200 set of fork springs would've fixed the problem...
Welcome & cool bike BTW!
Daz.

I have a GSXR1000 05 front end on my Zed & using the stock master cylinder with the better calipers has made a
HUGE improvement, apart from the braided lines, so you could possibly look at other options.
The link for the conversion is here:

As for Brembo MC's I got one from Canada a while back for the 10 & had no dramas with these people

Good luck Ian & keep us updated with what you end up doing

Ian, I found having the pazzo's helped as they're adjustable
You could always ride slower so it didn't matter

I've had racetech springs put in and re-valved from suspension improvements, it made a huge differance over stock. I have also just fitted a fully adjustable FG shock(from Italy) on the rear, OMG what a differance!!!
I am fairly aggressive on the brakes at times and am finding that since I placed the HH pads in their is a slight shuddering under braking. Does anybody have any ideas what this may be??

I just missed out on a new set (500 klms old) of the GSXR shocks and calipers

, they ended up going for around $500. What did you end up paying for your conversion (roughly)??
Robracer. In your opinion is it still worth doing the gixer conversion even though I have already done some mods on my shocks?

Hi Tanya, I ended up going with the new ASV adjustable levers, extremely happy with them. The only problem that I ran into was I had to change the clutch perch to a 07 model so that they would fit. They feel much better to use, however they havn't made any difference to the braking performance. If I wanted to ride slower, I would borrow my daughters scooter!!

About $1500 in total for the conversion including suzy forks & guard, the Zed triple trees, cost to CNC them & the cost to turn up a new front axil as I wanted to use the Z750 wheel. I also have an ohlins at the rear, so am spoilt
This bike is a keeper for a long time so I have invested the time & money in setting it up to suit the riding I am doing & am really happy with the mods, but be aware that it is not a job that can be rushed... the bike was on my bench for over a month to get it all right.
