Been testriding today :)

Did a bit of testriding today. Finally rode one of my dreambikes- Guzzi Sport 1100. The BEST sounding bike I have ever ridden. Kinda reminded me of a Firestorm with better sound and worse (!) handling. Bugger. Too bloody uncomfortable too. There goes that dream. :(
Anywho I've been looking at getting rid of the ZZR which I have never really liked much. Been thinking ZRX and test rode one of them too. Much better bike than the ZZR, handled, braked and engine response (particularly midrange were way better). Wheelied without clutch, spun the wheel leaving corners (bridgestones would be the first thing to go) and was waaaaaaaaaaaay more fun to ride. Only problem is that the dealer wants to give me $6500 for the ZZR! One owner, never dropped, immaculate and they offer me that. They haven't seen it but. I rode my GN in there. Price of ZRX was retail as well. $7500 changeover. Not bloody likely. Gatton dealer is $1500 cheaper on the bike without a trade. Hmmmmmmmf.

Good onya Bonester, don't ya hate it when something you really like isn't all you'd wish it to be. I bet they ring you up this next week & offer you a grand more for the trade in.

the old "Shock 'em & Rob 'em" technique.

Goodluck with the shopping mate, I rode Big Kevs 08 10r yesterday. Very different to "me Crim", But certainly nicer riding it then looking at it. ;)

Bought a ZRX today. Got a reasonable deal and rode up to the Sunshine Coast to do it. Crap ride up, great ride down. :D
First time in 9 years that I haven't owned a ZZR. 8)

Yep Felix still around. Dividing my time between Ipswich and Toowoomba. A westy ride sounds like the go, Pontikat- Mama Ck is a nearby fave, as well as my secret squirrel ride near Crows Nest. :D

I testrode a Speed Triple recently and was a great bike, but $18-19k for a naked? I would have to ride them side by side but can't remember the triple being any better than the ZRX. I'm sure it is, but. 8)

Phil it's bloody awesome. Just as licence unfriendly as the ZZR too. Mighta got a flash for cash on the way home last night too. :(

ZZR panniers are going to fit with some modding.

Do you reckon I should paint the panniers green, Felix? I reckon they look OK against the similar colour of the stripe on the bike. Spent 9 hours today making the mounts for the panniers and they are nearly done. Can ride it with the bags now, but need to make a cross-brace and a front mount for the left one coz it doesn't have a muffler with an available mounting point there. 8)
