Insurance

Look i know we have discussed this here a thousand times! Yes! i searched the forum on it but could not really find the answer i was looking for.
101 pages with the word "insurance"

Any chance we could maybe do a sticky post on some questions we always get like Neka suggested in another post on insurance btw? :)

Anyway questions is this, anyone tried or had dealings with eBIKE Insurance? only their quote was stupidly low in comparison to Shannons, Insure My Ride, NRMA.
On the order of $339 full comprehensive vs $790 upwards for the others!  Before anyone asks i was totally honest about mods done to the bike, security and where it will be kept and how it will be used.
Also i noticed that Western QBE has a "we will beat any other quote" line on their website.
I know Dave said he uses em and has been very happy, so any thoughts on having to claim from any of these companies would be really appreciated seeing as we have had a few members added to Team Crash this year.

Sorry to add another topic on this Admins please delete if your not happy

Know ppl that have dealt with QBE and had no dramas, dunno anyone that uses E-Bike, fwiw when I looked to getting my 9 insured pretty much every quote I had was around the $900 mark :( Arista are supposedly good value for the older type generation > 40.

I will second WQBE! I just got insurance for my ZRX1200S.... $364 and considering over the last few years..... i managed to write off two 05 ZX6R's.... but I have protected my full NCB.. and now get the one at fault claim per year to protect my NCB.... so that is gggooooold.... I will be staying with them as long as they have me ;)

There's a guy on another forum (yes there are others :) ) who is going through eBike - and just smashed his gixxer. He reckons they've been "great so far", but I don't think he's got as far as getting a cheque yet... Apparently all his gear is covered too. Will be watching with interest what happens.

A friend of ours just recently bought a new bike, and went to insure with eBike... She got the policy and it was very cheap compared to the other companies. They seemed ok with pretty good coverage... ie they give you $4000 worth of riding gear cover standard. She also chose to pay by the month.

When she got her document in the mail, it turns out that when she opted for pay by the month, it is actually a loan that is taken out and you re-pay the loan each month. This would be ok, but it was never mentioned to her throughout the whole process. Also, if another rider that isn't on the policy rides your bike, it is essentially un-insured. No option for extra excess if an un-named rider crashes your bike.

She ended up cancelling the policy and going with Insure My Ride instead because she couldn't be 100% sure how these guys would be in the event of a claim. We know a few people that have dealt with insure my ride, and they came through pretty quickly with the repairs and stuff so she felt a bit better going with these guys.

Personally, I would rather pay a bit more for the coverage knowing you won't get screwed when push comes to shove.

From my experience: I would highly recommend WQBE, had a claim a year or two ago and they were great!
I had issues with the repairer stuffing me around and found WQBE to be very helpful, and there was no hesitation in them coming to the party.

Upon receiving my renewal every year I shop around - and for the past two years I have found Shannons to be much cheaper . . . . and when I have contacted WQBE and told them that I didn't want to change but I have a quote that is approx. half the price - they have matched it every time, without question! (just send em a copy of the quote).

So for me, I'm more than happy and have no reason to change! ;) ;)

main thing with any insurance company is be honest with them when i put my claim in i told them about 2 fines i had that i had not yet notified them of and was all cool

I will say i have a couple mates that have also had to make claims in the last couple years 1 x Shannons and 1 X WQBE and both went quick and painless

Birdman is on the money there! No insurance is worth it if you have not complied with 'full disclosure' otherwise that 'cheap' policy is nothing more than an expensive paper plane ;) because it certainly is worthless if you need to make a claim!
