Hey guys,

Well my favourite bike shop pulled in a beautiful Orange 04 ZX10R Crim! 6,700km's, Tidy body, not marks, showroom cond. $11k. 6 months rego

Image

What my question is, is it really worth that and i wats peoples personally oppions on this bike, particular the 04. I heard rumour there has been frame issue. I have ridden the Gumby (06), R1 (05), CBR1k (05), K7 1K, and i have to say this is the BEST out of the lot! I know thats a bold statement but it felt the best to ride! Not only power but handling etc etc. I know this will stir up some shit but i am looking for peoples pro's and cons and weather this price is any good, value for money, things to check and be wary of and just the general stuff when buying a new bit of kit.

I have to buy a new Shoei, Alpinestars leather pants and boots, so the shop will do me a good deal if i get the lot at once! but i am more concerned with the bike.

Thanks guys! I look forward to what has to be said (so long as its constructive!!)

Just one of those bizarre rumours with no substance. The only issue with the '04 was the front wheel recall, and of course the infamous tail piece cracks

Ah yes tail piece cracks thats the other one i forgot about! Is there any way around it, or just buy a few and replace so often ??

Micks the arse crack expert :D :D . Check the tabs under the pillion seat to see if there are any tiny cracks where the tail piece bolts onto the sub frame.

Other than that mate they are brilliant. For the money with only 6.7k on it it sounds pretty good

Too much $$ if you ask me.

You'd do a lot better buying private.

My 2 cents 8)

Well I just had a quick look and most 04,05s are goin for 12500-13000 both private and dealer, with alot more Ks(15000-20000)
I suppose it comes down to what do you want and what your willing to pay for it.
11 sound good to me but always try to get them lower, 10 say, and still get the leathers and helmet cheap.
If they want to sell it they will bend.
Good luck.

Also check rear engine mount bolts, happens if the bike has done a few hard monos.

I know it's a link to another forum, and a Yank one at that  but a lot of good info here

Wow thanks guys wise words from yall.... Well the guy that previously had it is a chook chaser fan and is also selling a 510cc husky so dunno if that means anything but, this ninja is looking pretty straight, i will check out those other little things if i go back tomorrow as it a good bit of kit!

As far as price i am but unsure i htink 11k is bit high as i have seen them down as low at 9k for crims but i dunno the condition of those ones. But alot of other decent ones seem to be floating aorund the 11-13k mark, depending on mods and km's i think 6,700kms is a good start to a new bike and just had kawasaki mechanic 6,000kms service so its very low kms!

Any other input guys ???

Riding around the city, certainly turns alot of heads!

Yeah i loved it, it was a fantastic bike to ride, best to date! If i could get it down to 10K does that sound more like a better deal ? I am basically ready to walk in with cash, but just want other oppions first. As you can see the bike is stock, but low Km's perhaps i should look for something with few mods already ?

Mods you can always add later
Low K's you have no choice & frankly I would go low K's over add on's

Walk in there with cash in hand & haggle...... walk out on the guy & watch him chase you out the door
You should have the controll after all you have the CASH!
Seriously he can either drop the price or throw in some goodies to keep you happy cause we all know shops mark up by heaps :?

As a better option you can but my crim track bike, with all the mods & change in your pocket ;)
