ZZR600 Throttle Problems

Hi guys,

I've had a problem for a while with my 99 zzr600 - when giving it a decent amount of throttle, the engine will miss / splutter majorly. I can get high revs only by slowly applying the throttle. I've replaced the plugs (which didnt look too bad), so im trying to work out what are the next most common sources of this problem. I was going to have a look at the jets next, and then check the coils etc. Are there any other easier to check possibilities that i'm missing?

Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex, welcome to the club wave.gif ... it sounds like your main jets might need a good clean... try there first ;)

Make sure your air filter's good, too. Although if it were coils or air filter I'd expect the plugs to be a bit sooty or wet with fuel.

Have you tried a tank of fuel with carb cleaner in it? Sometimes that works, but only if the jets aren't too badly clogged.
