Dose anyone know how hard it is to fix the power valve set up on the KR1? it dose not rotate when it starts, nor dose it rotate when reved passed 6000rpm?

Think Billy (the_kid) is the KR expert although S&W (slow&wobbly) might be able to help too.

oh I should add..

try to do a better job than we did.
so they actually stay open, instead of flapping around in the breeeze.

but yep, don't need 'em. just keep it pinned =)

oh but if you actualy do want them... for some strange reason.
you probably need a new ecu or something thereabouts.

oh and try not to blow an engine (or two!).. it's easier than you might think ;)

on second thoughts, just get a nice blue zx10r and all your worries will be over.

she'll appreciate 4 strokes so much more, it's much less selfish

It could be the ECU or the servo motor - I suspect it would be the ECU. They seem to be a little tempremental. There is a test proceedure for these in the service manual. Requires a multimeter. Generally the reg rec is the cause of ecu problems. If it delivers too much power it destroys the chips / processors.
What state are you in?

The power valves should "cycle" when you turn the ignition on . They open when revs get to 8 grand I think not 6 .
If it doesn't cycle when you turn on the ignition test the resistance between the 3 wires coming out of the servo motor . there is another pair of wires , but its the triple set to test . Bit hard to describe but should get readings of between 0 -6 k ohms across the top pair .
Might be an idea to download a manual from here , http://www.kr-1s.co.uk/ .

Make sure the cables are not too tight as that can stuff the motor too .
