Anyone know where I can get one here. Have tried the likely places e-bay etc. Know anyone who has one and is wanting to be relieved of it?

I knew you would have an idea I'll give them a buzz. A sargent seat is like $646 so getting an old one redone looks the goods.

I am hoping not to have to spend that amount that's why I am trying to get an original off a wreck and get it redone by the guy Strika mentioned in Melbourne, but I am open to any possibilities, Ta.

the 1200 seat was supposed to be different, try the wreckers for one of them, it may even work out cheaper ;)

Hey Rooster,
Here's a shot of my original/modified seat.

Image

Done in Connelly (Jaguar) leather, by Roy Lennon in Mackay Qld. The flames & letters are actually stitched in under cutouts in the top layer of leather, not just stitching in a single leather layer. Only original part is plastic base, new dual density foam layers. Riders section is now 1" longer and lower to allow me to stretch back into it for dragracing 8) .
Also have a mate in Yea Victoria who does excellent custom motorcycle seats. Had a CBR1000 seat remodelled with a sheep hide cover by Ian back in 1994, & was the most comfortable motorcycle seat I have ever tried :D . Then I traded the CBR on the ZRX in 2002.
If you can get an aftermarket seat to test/try & you like it, buy it, or copy it :)
Custom upholstery gives a nice individual touch to your bike also.

Could you put their contact details or PM them to me. Just trying to locate another original seat and do the custom option, much cheaper as it turns out and quality as good if not better.

Mate, don’t do another thing until you have spoken to George from metzi moto skinz, if you want a custom look or shape you should check out some of the work they have done on there website http://www.metzi.com.au
My brother got metzi to do his seat and I kid you not, it is absolutely perfect and it suits the bike something fierce. They started years ago doing show and sponsored bikes all over the world and have only in the last couple of years started serving the public. They are a real head turner.

I’m looking for a new bike and the first thing I’m doing is getting them to do my seat.

The samples on their web page look impressive... might have to save their details for ron ;)
