heya short/brief intro

Post by phear8me »

heya

well thought i would be nice and at least give you some form of introduction of who i am and what i ride before i go ahead posting threads asking thousands of questions and so on

well i am only on my Ls at the moment got them about 3 months ago and ive owned my bike for about 4-5 months now its just a lil gpx 250 that i picked up and now im looking at selling to buy a 600 or something around that size as the 250 is feeling a bit small for me considering im about 6ft tall so if you know of someone getting rid of a 500 or 600 at a good price doesnt have to look the best feel free to let me know

also my step dad has a bike now as after i bought mine he rode it around till i got my Ls then went out and bout himself a 900 but i cant ride it till im legally allowed too :(

ok well im in SA northern suburbs of adelaide and will be looking at meeting a few of you at some stage on a cruise or meeting of some form
and hopefully get to know others through this forum

its not the prettiest bike but does its job ill attemp to attach a pic

Image
this is the worst side it shows the small dent in the tank from when it was knocked off its stand however im planning on getting a new tank before i sell the bike
also ive had the brakes just recently done and planning on buying new front tyre next week and putting rego on it then going to ride it and advertise it for sale hopefully will be able to sell it and find another bike within the same week

cheers

Gday & welcome to the club. I'm not sure about the laws in SA, but don't you need your full licence to ride anything bigger than a 250. You might be able to ride an older 600 if the power to weight is within the law.
Anyhow enjoy your riding and watch out for Neka......

Wecome aboard! If you live in Adelaide, don't sell the GPX just yet! Wait till you've earned your stripes in the Adelaide hills then move up! A well ridden GPX is one hard bike to try and pass on anything from the gorge rd to Chain of ponds, Mad mile to Cuddly creek and more!! Go learn those hills on the 250 and go bigger once you really get a handle on it! 8)

Hey and Welcome.
I am sure you will get to meet all us south Aussie's soon. Even though there are just a handful of us on here.

Keep an eye out on the forums as we generally try to post up when we plan to head out for a ride.

cheers for the walm welcomes

cheers for that tip strika lol i been meaning to go out on on those roads on the way up to mt barker to see the family up there just been too busy/slack to actually get up there so far the closest i have come was the toy run just recently

mainly looking at going up a size or 2 due to the fact the bike feels so small and i look so lankey on it lol im not in an overly big rush to sell it as i still prefer to take the bike out then the car even when it is pissing down with rain

now you got me curious whos this neka character??

im hoping next time there is a cruise on ill be able to make it to catch up with some of you guys it would be nice to put faces to names at some stage

"heeeeeeeeeerrrreeees NEKA"

hey mate..welcome...

theres a few of us on here- most read a few posts , hang about for a week, then bugger off.....

stick around tho, ull learn a few things..

so ur on LAMS as ur still on L's or P's?? that being the case- u will find the type of bikes u can get, wont be that much of a benefit for u.. shit even modern 600cc bikes (like cbr,zxr r6 etc) arent that much bigger than ur gpx...

once u can ride it well, then upgrade...

oh.. and as a cross promotion (ive picked up a few members from riding sa to here) theres a local riding group who have a lot of rides over here, and a lot of learner rides... granted u will not find a better bunch of folks in here (or more knowledgeable) .. so hang about in both!!

Mate, you dont have to get a 600 to have a bike that will suit a taller person and still be a heap of fun to ride.
Some people think that a sports bike is the best bike to get for going fast in corners.
There is a style of bike out there that will take the pepsi challenge, and win, with a bike nearly 3 times its capacity on a nice tight twisty road.

Come to think of it you dont even have to have a full licence to ride one.
Come over the the Dark side.
