Ok i thought i would start this little thread as something has happened today that has really given me the hump.
Not again you say... but bear with me on this as its bike related.
I want to buy a set of "p##o" levers for me bike yeah. (Name changed just in case, sure you can work it out) Now i can get these on ebay for 190 oz and with shipping this comes to oh about $220 max.
A good 100 bucks cheaper than i have been able to find here. Now i have found out that NO ONE can send me these as there is a pazzo distributer in oz who has the exclusive rights to them. This is as far as i can tell in breach of the relaxing of parallel import laws as well as a breach of the trade practices act in 3 sections.

Anyways am i just going off the handle here at nothing or does anyone else get the shits over this stuff too ???
I am so fed up of having to pay higher prices here for things especially when it comes to our bikes that the rest of the world gets far cheaper!!

Anyway rant over would be interested to hear any opinions on this kind of stuff.

I know plenty of people that have purchased those levers from the states/ebay no problem.

So i dont know what they told you.... Just find another seller

Mate, Australian Consumer law cannot stop a company having an exclusive import/wholesale/retail agreement. It is only one brand of levers and other levers are available in Australia, thus it is not a breach of the trade practices act.

As someone who has imported and distributed motorcycle accessories, I can say with accuracy that the majority of the price differences occur due to the large volumes which other markets can afford to order. One product I wanted to import, would have required me to buy 10 years worth of stock in order to turn a profit. I figured the product may have run it's life before I ended selling it all!!!!

Get them to send it to your friend in europe and they can send it on easy fixed

i spent abt a month (august??) trying to get what ur trying to get...

basicly cos Mladin imports em, he will throw a tanty if the US shops get caught selling them here.. and they will lose their dealer status in the US... ..so for them..is it worth losing a sale to lose ur abiltity to sell the product?? i doubt it...

anyway..have a chat to me in 2 weeks and we will see if i think anydifferently....
