so heres the thing... ya take ya brand new/newish pride and joy to a dealer cos u want a warranty approved service, and u have no way to get home...so they offer u a loan bike... a beaten up old piece of crap that u normally wouldnt be seen dead riding..shit sumtimes its even a a spewzuki..or a "mediocre sherpa" ..thats if u can even get a bloody loan bike, and u dont have to make ur own arrangements with a maximum of being rooted around...

unless u take ur bike to SA Dirtbikes/Kawasaki...

How do you rate the 07 model verses your 06?

incidently... they offered me the versys or the zed...i actually said the versys, cos theres no other way i'd ride one, so it would be a chance to test the thing... but as he couldnt find the trade plate, and it wasnt rego's, it was to be the zed....

What i like abt the 07-
The brakes- fark me do they stop well...and i thought the 06 was ok!!
The smoothness..its so smooth and responsive, tho maybe thats cos its stock..throw a can on and see how it goes- see if ya get a flat spot...
Front end- forks just seem a bit more planted..

What i dont like-
No storage under pillion seat
Styling- i still prefer the 1st gen
Power- could be the cans, but i found mine more powerful..i think...
Harder to wheelie... again..could just be me being careful, but the balance on mine feels better... i think..

ideally id prefer my model, but maybe with a pc3 to sort out motor, and ill be looking for a front end to transplant when i have the $$

ahh u beat me to it...

i havent had a chance to run it in the hills..as i was crook and fatigued, i brought it str8 home... off work today sick, so not chancing it...

might slip out to SA dirt bikes/kawasaki via a few twisty roads....

the 07 is also running Dunlop qualifiers (which i havent used- but a few ppl loved em), whereas my 06 has Bt019 on the front which is a horrible tyre..so id like to see how much better my 06 is with a m3 or sumthin on it...

Don't sweat it Nath, the Dunnies stick like poo to a blanket...they just don't do it for very many kilometres is all!!! They wear out real quick, but, seeing as this is a demo bike and not your tyres, let loose and take em back fried !!!

what a nice loaner ! I got hold of a z750 for one of the services last year, it was nice , but a tad underpowered .... ;)

Dunlop Qualies are *the shit*, at least for 5 or 6k. I like 'em a lot.....

Jezzus Neka, that has to be the best loaner I have ever seen. My bike shop tells me the train is close by, or have you got somebody to pick you up. I might ask them for a Crim next time. :P

and u broke the z1000 didnt ya?? hahaha

maybe i was a tad hasty....can i recant my comment that it wont wheelie??

maybe it was that i was exhuasted from flu and a 200km hills ride, maybe it was that i was in peak hour traffic, maybe i just wasnt revving the thing....

farking thing wheelied ok today...in 2nd with the clutch anyway...1st i was a bit hesitant, didnt want to come up under power....
