Went to Team Moto at granville today and took a GTR1400 and 08 ZX14 for a quick spin.Only went up the M4 for a couple of kays and then back.Rode the GTR first and must say very smooth and can see how you can do the miles people do.I found that with the panniers on that my passenger coulnt get on without hitting the bags so they wouldnt look very new after awhile. The shaft drive effect was not noticeable for the short distance we road.
The 08 Zx14 i road second by myself as my passenger stayed on the GTR certainly brought some issues up.First there was certainly alot more up and go in the lower revs compared to 07 so there is no lag under 5000 revs.It says on the website that the brought the power delivery to about 2800 revs. The demo i rode i think must have a few problems though.Firstly it was running very hot in traffic compared to what mine runs at.I mean it was almost at the top mark on the digital guage then drop to just over half when at speed. The second was when going around corners it didnt seem to want to tip over. For a bike with 105km it shouldnt do that.Hope that the shop looks over it again and checks it out after being told what was wrong.
The colour of matt black and candy red turns heads but since i love cleaning my bike this new 08 model looks very hard to clean as you cant polish and any scratch would be hard to get out of the paint.Maybe a coat of clear over the top would make any easier bike to maintain.I think for the difference in price from mine to the new one i might just put pipes and a power commander on.
