To always wear your protective gear when riding...
I dont know any of the people in the photo's just thought i'd put this together for those riders who get around in a t-shirt and shorts...

With the "it won't happen to me, I'm a good rider" mentality these threads unfortunately won't change anything.
I would consider myself a safety nazi, I wear a minimum of helmet/gloves/jacket/boots/jeans for 99% of my riding, and if I'm going into the hills I have a back protector, draggins and moto-x style knee & shin guards.
That said, I wear shoes and a t-shirt on the bike about once a fortnight, normally if I'm going to the pub for a light beer... there is a point at which you have to consider practicality to at least some degree so that's a compromise I make - and I do have the right to make that choice. The same as I believe I have a right to wear no helmet, if I'm doing a short trip to the shop or riding 500m up the road after lubing the chain or doing an oil change... but hey the rule makers have to assume the lowest common denominator and if that was allowed then we'd be seeing boyracers with no lids chucking themselves off twisty mountain roads.

I fuckin' HATE threads like this. If I wanted to see maimed fuckers, I would google it. I could post pictures of entrails spread across a 3-line highway, with a headless corpse with all limbs missing, due to a biker being caught up in the back wheels of a semi-trailer - But whats the point ??? Its just sensationalist, and makes my fuckin' guts churn anyway.
We all know what can happen out on the road - But please, we don't need to be reminded of it here !!! We already know.......
just my 2c worth
