here is a new pic of my 14 with the grills painted the same body colour with the fins chromed.The front fender fin is colour matched and the upper inner fairing has been completely smoothed and colour coded.

thanks,just got the panels back today from paint as the chrome i had on there before was a little too much now looks more factory.The chrome on the upper inner fairings peeled when getting ready for some paint highlights and the painter decided to paint the whole panel black.Looks good with the chrome fork caps and chrome covers on the brake and clutch resivours

thanks guys,the panels were professionally painted by Firebrand motorcycles who made that blue R1 at the sydney motorcycle show.I thought the chrome i had on there before was probably too much where this looks like it came from the factory.Flywheels at Alexandria has the matt black with flames 08 ZX14 which the owner of the shop owns.I want to take it for a ride and see the difference.

You know i had someone ask me after seeing mine what they could do to a black one and i suggested silver fins...

Only thing i am bleeding on is the painted bits on the front guard have been hit by a stone and chipped it..

I like how you have taken the chrome and added the black over the top..

Yes someone did inspire me too cover the chrome...... Plus on the dark blue 08 model they have colour coded the cover and fins on the side and look good body colour.The painter had a hard time trying not to peel the chrome when scuffing it up to paint.Thats why the upper fairing covers are painted all black as the chrome flaked and couldnt be saved.

I can vouch for the fact that in the flesh this looks bloody nice. Good call Taz.

I must say i dont like the new Blue, and definately not the black with flames look. The silver looks ok, but i am still very partial to my Blue ..

+1 there mate - I think that matt-black / flames is so tacky-looking, very cheap and nasty imho. Apologies to all those out there with tribal flamejobs, about the only one that looks OK is the silver/red combo on the 6's.

Matt black is not a colour for a brand-new motorcycle, sorry. Its a colour for a dodgy home paint-job by spotty 16 year olds with no money and no idea.

I have seen one in the flesh Gos.. Its as ugly as sin mate..

I think the worst of the bunch is the current 'Mean Streak' !!! it just looks like a dodgy paint job done by some arse-clown in a backyard !!!

Mate i like, got to love the jet black and polished aluminium or chrome.
