Too fast - is there such a thing?

A MOTORCYCLIST clocked at almost 200km/h on the way to the Moto GP at Phillip Island was not pursued because the rider was going too fast, police said today.
The rider was heading along the Bass Highway yesterday morning towards Phillip Island, where the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix was being, when police detected the motorcycle travelling at 197km/h.
A police spokeswoman said the rider was detected on radar, but not a camera so a fine could not be issued.
The incident was one of few at Phillip Island over the weekend, despite more than 50,000 spectators at yesterday's event.
A minor assault took place at the Champions Bar on Friday night, resulting in two arrests.
Police caught two motorcyclists executing "monos'' (back wheel riding) and impounded both bikes.
The separate incidents happened at Phillip Island and the outer south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne.
