No burnouts?

has anyone noticed this year with motogp the distinct lack of post race/victory burnouts??
then they put tyre covers/warmers on the tyres as soon as they pull the bikes in?
ive hypothised that the manufacturers want more tyre data so they dont destroy the tyre with a burnout.
im interested in other peoples thoughts on this.

I agree,

Tyre specs and info has been a major factor for this year, i think you are probably right.

Yes, this came to my attention. I think your on the money there. I heard that they might have to all use controlled tyres soon. I'm not sure if this is true. Tyre warmers on after a race just says to me that they need all the data they can get from the race tyre. Still i am missing the burnout at the end. There seems to be a lot less wheelies at the end to.

they dont get to do a victory/cool down lap in Aus... as soon as they get passed turn4 (honda) they go into the pitts via the back pitt entry...so no real chance to do a wheelie.....

i think only once i the last 6 yrs they have let em do a cool down lap, and thats cos the crowds cant behave emselves...

Yep, as per normal, the few have ruined it for the majority. How long until we see massive fences around the track like they have at some of the European rounds?

mugello have ten/twelve feet high wire fences all the way round the track - still didnt stop the major track invasion at the end of the race after rossi won. i should know, i was there in june this year... and climbed the fence. 8)
