Hi all,

Probably the wrong site for discussing a Honda review, but anyway did anyone see the article on the custom Hornet in the above mag (page 24 if you're interested)?

Nice looking unit, and I really like the Moriwaki cans (mine is way too quiet in stock from) but $10000 in bling, wtf is with that ?

I realise it's a one-off Honda Oz showpony, but fark me...

Mick

Well $4600 on the wheels (which I didn't like) and $1400 on the cans (which I did). If you look at rearsets, rotors for the front and the headlight pod then that's another $2200-odd. I can understand up-speccing when bits wear out, but screw paying $10000 on a UJM, I'd rather buy a naked Duke or Tuono... :?

Yeah that bike by Honda Aus was terrible, I don't mind the 900 in stock form but that looked violated. If you want bling you probably wouldn't buy it in the first place. Bring back the SP2 if they want to sell bling.

Read it last night. What an absolute waste of money! 10 large could have gone so much further and done so much more, It looked stock standard, and by all accounts seemed to even perform like stock. The exhaust looks the goods but seems so out of place on that bike. As for the wheels

Yeah mate, at home in Victoria.

I like the cans, they may be a bit gaudier than the stock cans, but seriously the bike needs a bit of character, it's too nice in stock. I quite like the look of the Aratas and Sato cans, but I'm not sure they are sold here. Moriwaki also make a set of plain Ti cans which do it for me as well.

I've seen much better wheels, but I still wouldn't pay $4500 for wheels...full sports system, PCIII, upgraded brakes and Ohlins first I think. A lot of the guys in the States replace the front end with one off a RC51 (I'm not exactly sure what model that was here, anyone know?) with the upside-down forks.

Let me know if you don't get a scanned version Nath and I'll do you one tomorrow night.

RC 51 = SP 1 and SP2 - VTR 1000R.
Even with your wishlist Mick you would get change from 6 grand and then still be able to purchase a set of Marvic or Marchesini wheels, and it would be a far better bike in terms of handling, power and the all important cool factor.

Hang on......it's a Honda who gives a shit anyway :P
