Birdmans ZX10

well i know Cheeky Tania will want to see this ;-)

the story goes like this.... one upon a time a die hard Honda rider needed a track bike and it just so happened that after getting sick of waiting for a good 1000RR to come up happened to stumble across a 05 ZX10R that was just too good to pass up

this was the start of the bike a few weeks ago

The first part to arrive was a nice blue billet oil cap to replace the broken one

Looks like you've got a bit of work to do on that one.. Good choice though..

the front end was pretty bent and most of the spokes snapped out of the front wheel so 07 forks and front wheel where sourced

strip the old front off

fit the new forks, wheel, vortex clip ons, full set of Hel braided lines and give her a wash

with the glass fitted it was starting to look like a bike
i do love the look of the 06-07 top triple over the 04-05

Even after bleeding the brakes 3 times they still just felt wrong, but then i am used to the SP1 front end i have on my Blacbird, anyway i decided to change the front master to a 07 Nissan version and fit some Pazzo levers

made a bracket to hold the reservoir out of flat Aluminum strap and polished her up

Now it was time to start painting

bellypan was painted gunmetal

rest of the bike is blue and white

i used the stock front guard as i like the grey plastic down the sides of the forks and it also has the holes to run the brakes line clips

Just waiting on Vortex Rearsets to arrive and she is all done except for a steering damper and fixing the dent in the tank
Her first outing is Eastern Creek next weekend, cant wait

guess ill have to clean the garage now the bike is done ;-)
