Why is it so?

OK, here's something I've been noticing, and I gotta say, it's really getting on my goat! (Not that I really have a goat, but, well, you know what I mean.)

Why is it that the GSXR1000 is now out of date and behind the times, yet bike magazines say it's:
"Raw and has character and is as good as any of the new sportsbikes"

Yet, when Kawasaki were putting the 9R up against the others it was:
"Old, out of date, uninspiring and plain boring?"

What is it with journalists and the wide berth they tend to give Kawasaki?

How many kwaka ads do you see in magazines, and how many suzi ads do you see?

Therein lies your answer, grasshopper.

Totally agree Jas, I think they give Kwika a harder time because they have a longer new model cycle compared to the others 3 Jap brands. So less test rides n promotional days on the Bike journo' Gravy train. Point in fact being the zx9r with a 10% smaller donk n at least 8 - 14 more kgs still had better quater mile times then the other 3 WHEN they stopped making it ?. Not bad for an outdated hack by there "wizz bang' Standards. Packa "Dickheads" IMO.
Cheers Brett

Very good point, I hate to say it but the GSXR still came second in the Masterbike this year and the CBR1000RR was relegated to 5th beleive it or not!!

But yes good point Felix ref the advertising and I sat on a Gixxer 1000 the other day and they are one big bike and the seating position is just as agressive as my 636, never ridden one though apparently they are one wild beast.

But dont worry still love the Kwakas and Suzuki still suck!!

most of the bike testers in the magazines (in all countries)
seem to agree
in fact a lot rate the Gixxer750 as better than the 1000
the 750 even ended up as the 2whls bike of the year
why?
quicker round a circuit or a twistie road, easier to ride and cheaper
the 1000 is only slightly quicker than the 750 in a drag race

I sat on a GSX1000 and a 600 and they are monsterous! They feel like Im sitting on a 44 gallon drum for christs sake, I would never feel comfortable on one. Dunno why Kwakka always gets shoved to the side, they havent been the best racing bikes so thats maybe why the testers give them the cold shoulder, they obviosuly havent realised how good Kawasaki have become over the years.

Jase
you sorta answered your own question
huh?
re-read...
it says that the range of new sportsbikes (read ZX10r et al )
is NO better (is as good as) than the Gixxer1000.
and from what I read, mosts bike testers are saying the same!
Written opinion says the Zx10r is manic, fast... over the top etc etc
but as a bike, no better and no advance on the Gixxer
nor the R1 or the Blade.

now a Zx10r engine whacked into a 9r
with the 10s brakes would be an interesting bike
and imo...
maybe thats what Kwika should have done
'COZ the 10r does not meet the hype that surrounded it release!

hmmm
will await the comments...

cheers
