06 ZX10R With R6 Exhaust

Post by motomick »

Here is my ZX10R with a single 06/07 Yoshi TRC exhaust. Tried to get them to make me left hand mount one but they wouldn't do it! (that will be the next project). It is only designed to push 110HP through it so pushing 160HP was a bit ambitious. However, with a bit of tuning we manged to get it to 162RWHP and 75lb Torque, and set the number plate on fire! This is about the same as standard, so not too bad really. Looks great in the flesh too!
(Thought I had already posted this picture? )

PCIII's are a beautiful thing!
I had a Boz Bros full open system on before this so when we did the first dyno run on it after changing exhausts it was only making 145RWHP (a drop of nearly 20HP!) This was due to the different fuelling characteristics the PCIII was set to (for the Boz Bros exhaust). It took 3 more dyno runs before we were happy with the fuelling ratio coming from the brain of the PCIII for the new exhaust (and hence HP figures). It's this change in fuelling which allowed the engine to get back to where it was ie. the fuel ratio going into the engine at a particular rpm needed to be reset because the gas flows in and out of the engine had changed so much due to the new exhaust having such a smaller diameter pipe. (it needed to be set for that particular exhaust). If the new exhaust was more open we could get more HP but that's the sacrifice we had to make to have a bike that wasn't so fucking loud it made small children cry.
Like I said PCIII's are a beatiful thing.
