I haven't seen it either, but I guess you're referring to this one:

That's the one Mick, and I finally got to see it a few months ago on DVD. As a movie it's not that great, but for the bikes and the nostalgia you just can't go past it.
I'd just bought the Z650 when I watched it and the sequence at the opening credits was pretty cool. Although it's a big Z, the startup sequence, switch gear, clicks and clunks etc are the same, and the sound when he warms it up and takes off is awesome
Did I mention how good the bikes are? A lot of Stone replica's look a bit dodgy IMHO, but the ones in the movie look pretty cool

that *Stone* Z900 is a bit of a wank

, but the Eddie Lawson Replica

now THAT is a good bike.
Mike - You need to watch the movie - this was ground-breaking for its time, was done on a budget of *SFA*, and cemented the kwakka nine as *the* bike to have in the 70's, at least in Oz......
Craig Brown was doing stand-up wheelies on a Z900 about 20 years before Troy Corser made them famous at PI .....
TeamCrim has it right - the starting sequence is just fantastic. The movie itself has a lot of a 'homemade' style about it, and the script can sometimes leave a bit to be desired

, but like any 'cult' movie, it has survived the test of time...............and its all about the bikes anyway !!

Stone is pretty Tragic....the only good thing about it is the bikes..
Id go a ZRX for $10,000 near new over that old Eddie rep, although it is nice.

You can't compare the two bikes.
The E.L.R is a collectable and will hold its value at the worst.
The ZRX is a great bike but in 10 years time will be worth far less than the ELR.
We had this aguement a few months ago re the GT HO fase Three that was auctioned for $600K
