KAWASAKI Warranty?
Is it just me or a Kawasaki pricks to everyone when it comes to honouring warranties?
I've had paint delamination on my 10R and since early March & notified my local dealer straight away.
Alto Kawaski has had the bike twice for a week at a time for the Kawaski rep to take photos and as of this morning Alto have put it in the too hard basket (ignore him & he'll go away) & have refered me directly to Kawasaki, who in turn are bitching I should be talking to the dealer.
No wonder they're losing sales to the other 3 Jap manufactures with crap customer service like this. Why pay for basic service work you can perform yourself just to keep the bike under a useless warranty scheme (scam)?
After 3 Kawasaki's you wouldn't expect to have put up with this shit.
Oh well, looks like it's off to consumer affairs & proberly a Honda/Suzuki dealer for a trade in.

Apprently if you keep pushing hard enough they will fix it under "good Faith"
Now I have never bought a new bike so I have never had warranty to worry about (in fact both my bikes were bought as repairable write offs) but going by the trouble a few people on here have had I'd say that your not alone. Just keep pushing and they might eventually do something about it.
BTW have you tried taking it to another dealer to see what response you get from them?

My warranty is out in August and i have thrown Kwaka warranties in the to hard basket, they just don't want to help you.
On the bright side, i bought a Haynes manual and now do all my services and have been able to learn how to diagnose issues as well as saved a packet on service fees. My last cost me $120 instead of $270 and it was fun and quite relaxing.

Most manufacturers insist that you get your bike serviced by one of their dealers...
also most manufacturers will void the warranty if you remove/add anything thing not supplied by them in the warranty period (most noticably, the exhaust)...
I have heard dramas about the Kwaka warranties in Aus, but also heard that Kwaka Japan usually comes through in the end.

The world is round. It has no point.

The problem with my bike started when it was 800k's old, the salesman said he could hear the problem as well, no one else could apparently.
I know warranty is now void, but the bastards won't do jack about it, i may as well just keep servicing the bike myself and spend the money i save on an engine rebuild by someone who isn't a complete dickhead

They cant do that as long as you have the bike/car serviced by a licenced mechanic, and use the specified/genuine parts oils etc you will not void the warranty. The only time that they can make you come back to them is if you have an extended warranty through a particular dealer or some specific deal then generaly as part of that they specific that it must be brought back to them for its service.Stereo wrote:Most manufacturers insist that you get your bike serviced by one of their dealers...

Also about adding exhausts etc, it will only void the warranty to that part ie. If you get a after market exhaust & PC it will only void your warranty in relation to the motor, if something goes wrong with your suspension for example or fairings it has no bairing on it what so ever.
Also be careful of having dealer fitted after market parts, A friend of mine had his warratry voided because of an aftermarket exhaust even though the dealer had it fitted at the time he bought the bike...(not a Kawasaki thought).

I've had no problem whatsoever with Kawasaki warranty...they pretty much replaced the whole tail section of my 10 under warranty. One bit got done twice.
I reckon it really depends on the dealer and how much they are willing to go into bat for you. Interestingly they told me they can do up to around $350 value without even getting approval from Kawasaki Australia first.

I'd expect all of the Major 4 are similar when it comes to warrenty issues. All they are interested in is selling bikes!
