lookin at the 550 engine,

its only about 500 bucks difference.

plusses:
-it looks shit hot!!
-my privates twitch when i think about it
-weighs 128kg, and has 70hp at the wheel
-wheelie machine!
-wont be breaking land speed records
-excellent suspension from the factory (unlike Z1000's)
-endless ground clearance (something i see as a NEED not a want)
-wouldnt need to spend any money on extras

minus's:
-only got 70hp
-no pillion pegs
-about 100km or so from a tank
-problably needs lots of services
-cant ride it to PI (range)
-ITS NOT A KWAK!

i went to bike shop at richond to take one fo0r a spin.
the 550 demo they have is broken :(
it has "water in the oil"
dude says its a recall on some engines.

a bit odd to, it has seperate gearbox oil to the engine. it has its good and bad points i guess.

so i worry a little bit...
but he's gunna ring me next week when its going so i can have a blat.

what ya'll think??

i think a motard kinda suits my riding style, but its not quite as real world friendly as the Z.

but imagine the old road

looks nice..mate of mine just bought a LC4 KTM 640 or woteva..awesome bike..top speed of 140kph or sumthin, wheelies in every gear...

range of abt 120km or so...

good fun around town, in the local hills...no good for track days (not too bad on small tracks) or long day rides...

Service intervals on the Ape are 60 hours - that's about 3000-4000km in average city riding.

They're an absolute hoot to ride - you'll save yourself a LOT of money in front tyres...

Go to http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/ for info on them - there's a whole section on the SXV/RXVs...

If you buy one of these, 'your' a bastard.........

Don't think you won't want to trick one of these up either, theres a multitude of aftermarket ad ons.

Wattie with the trickest bike on the forum, hows the 12 gonna catch ya through the twisties on that one

Go for it mate
