Another One Bites the Dust

6pm tonight I took the long way home as usual. Was at a set of lights minding my
business waiting for the lights to turn green when a pig walks up to the front
of the bike & asks me to pull over so I roll the bike to the side of the road & dismount.
(Knox City Traffic Management Unit). I turn around & theres a black car behind me with
lights flashing on top of the dashboard.

Image

Usual license/rego check etc. They both get out (unmarked black car, black windows)
& one of em tells me they were parked on the side of road & I zoomed past em. Show
me the radar which clocked me 60.5m in front of em doing 113 in a residential 50 zone.

One of them was actually a bike rider so we had a good chat. He told me that they could
immediately impound my bike & issue summons for me to go to Court. I'd also qualified
to have my license taken away for 12mths.

Because of our chat & my attitude they decided to drop my speed to 99 then they changed
their mind again & made it 96 & alleged speed to 94km/h; loss of license for 6mths instead
of 12. He said they'd write up their report in a way so they dont get their asses kicked
for not confiscating my bike eg. no traffic, not outside a school zone etc.

There wasent a single vehicle on the roads so I asked em where the hell were they. When
they told me where & why I remembered seeing the car parked but I would never have
known they were police, let alone that the car was occupied.

Cop shared a smoke & a bit of a laugh because I was told em that its probably a good thing
I dont have mirrors because if I did & saw them behind me there is no way
known I'd ave stopped. We talked more about the bike, other ninjas (he has a ZX-7R) & bikes
at the Spur whilst the other pig wrote up the ticket.

There was mention about me not displaying my reg label and not having a rear plate light,
but nothing more was made of it. I simply told em my lable is kept under the pillion seat.
I didnt say nothing about the lack of tag light. They had a bit of a laugh at my license because
the expiry date is 31/12/9999.

I shook hands with both of em, told em it was a job well done & thanked em for giving me
a break and I was off on my way again.

Image

Spewing because I only decided at the last moment to hit some back roads & they told me
they were only there for a few more minutes to see if they could catch anyone on the way
home from work so I made their time worthwhile I guess.

I'll do my time hard & walk the 3km to work or get missus to drive me in because I've already
appeared before the courts for driving whilst suspended & dont want to get caught for that
again.

Will be especially hard on the w/ends because thats when I do all the runs with my brothers.

Looks like I'll be spending a bit more time with the four kids. Image

Umm what for? He is obviously in the wrong, has been caught, gotten off fairly lightly in the circumstances, wtf would talking to a brief do for him apart from lighten the wallet even more?

If I was him I would, what if he needs his licence for his job like I do ?, he could swing a licence with certain provisions. Everyone has different circumstances and briefs know how to play the game if there is alot at stake....but thats up to him, I dont know his circumstances..

BTW who the fuck are you ! the fucking minister for justice !

BTW I will obtain your permission first next time I need to take a dump !

I know plenty of people that have been been able to reduce the severity of such penalties by employing a brief, and I assume he is big fat and ugly enough to make that call for himself, but should never rule it out.

Faark Hoffy, take it easy mate!!! Did they all pass you on the old rd on Sunday or sumfink mate?????

I do however agree, that MG would be well served talking to a mouthpiece who specialises in this stuff! :)

I have no idea where MG is, but when i spoke to a lawyer regarding my 48 (takein down to 44) over i was told that the license suspension was something manditory you couldnt throw lawyers at unless you were able to prove that you weren't speeding whatsoever.

But thats here in NSW, at least some good news, rta attempts to legalise covert speed vans a la the act / victoria and gets shot down by the incumbent & opposition.

from what I hear you also have speed cameras hidden in garbage bins and bushes..if people dont put up a challenge to this shit we will see speed cameras at every set of lights, at every intersection and every nice piece of road in this fair country....its a fucking con.

look at the Lane Cove Tunnel 40k Roadworks Fiasco.. it was interesting to hear the people that hadn't been booked say, well serve yourself right to the people that had been, yet every person booked felt ripped off and rightly so, and the fines got reversed.
Now there were unsupecting people that were doing 40k's over the speed limit that would have lost their licence, yet they were let off, just to prove that the speed detectors/cameras and the way they are used is not always right..
