Good chance of getting a service manual online or off ebay, always plenty around for the early 12's. But a parts manual might be a little more difficult.

cheers
taking the battery out on a 12 is like having a wank a lot of effort for very little satisfaction. youcan do it by lifting the tank cover then pulling the side cover off and flexing your fairing but if your not keen on the flex you have to pull the rightside fairing off, as you can see very much like wanking a lot of pulling no satisfaction

rumbles yolu hit the nail on the head... what a waste of effort for so little gain... kawasaki should re think that issue.

Yeah due to lack of interest it was eventually closed.
AndyZX (formerly DrBlackbird) updated from a BB to a 12 and requested a website for the 12R, It was run by his mate and the owner of the BlackBird forum or busa forum whatever club here in Oz.
We had a quite a few members and unfortunately we lost a lot of info posted on that site.
