one of things I saw at the PI Track day was a
set of handle bar straps (used by Dan) to tie his bike down on the trailer...
a damn sight better than a 1000 mile of rope and easy to put on
Dan borrowed 'em from Mario who got 'em off a mate of a mate ....
does anyone know a brand or a source for this webbing tiedown handlebar thingie? (I have checked a few racersden etc but nothing)
cheers

I have a set that go over the handle bars and across the triple clamp. I bought then from Pablos in Mulgrave. From memory they cost about $45.
http://www.pablos.com.au
Factory 2, 16 Rosemary Court, Mulgrave Vic.3170
Ph: (03) 9561 5522 Fax: (03) 9561 4666
I can't remember what brand they are or what they are exactly called.
But the have red loops that go around the 'bar grips with black webbing that crosses over the triple clamp and through the other red loop, this black webbing has a loop at the end. I then use tie downs between the end of the black webbing and the trailer.
Sorry, but I didn't see the way Dan ties his bike down.
I hope this helps

I just rang Pablos.
They have a couple in stock. Price $35.95
They referred to them as: Tie Down Harness

photos?
From the descriptions doesn't sound too stable.
If your tie-downs hook up to this webbing, then surely you'd have trouble making the tie-downs tight....

It is very stable, alot of the road racers use this system or a similar system. But you still need to tie the rear end as well.
Sorry no photos ATM

the descriptions don't do it justice..
it is hard to describe, but when you see how easy it is... it is good
(I helped Dan load and strap his bike at the Island)
so yeah maybe a photo....
Dan? Mario?
cheers

just one thing Mine have the two tiedowns incorporated in the whole strap
By Corby's decription you need to still use two tie downs to pull down on the strap

I use two tie-downs when transporting my bikes. Both at the front. Never had a problem.

thanks Mario
I saw the one Dan had in operation
and its the bit across the bars that i am interested in
I have tiedowns (and use 'em)
but the difficulty is where and how to hook 'em on the GPx
the fairing is a no-no and the forks offer nothing to hook onto
so I use the the clamp but the rope rubs on the fairing
so anything I can strap across the bars (which are higher)
and then hook a tiedown on...is good!
the attached piccie shows the problem
and why I am interested in these handle bar straps...
cheers

My first bike, my scooter dare I say it when it was delivered it was secured via the straps described and the worked a treat. Good investment I say, now if only I had a trailer.
