l saw that Hunwick/Hallam bike at Winton years ago, sounded better than a Duke and went better than the Jap bikes.

Was that bike the first to have the no frame, as in, everything was bolted of the engine :?: :?:

They were an ugly bit of gear. Like atrain wreck, couldnt help but be interested. Went like a wombat with a bindii in its sphincter from what i heard.

I saw the Britten out at OP years and years ago. did some hot laps, That was a horn sounding machine

I watched Mal Campbell race the Hunwick Hallam at Oran Park back in the mid-90's. It was very fast. He was racing it during the Shell Superbikes series.

Here are a couple of photos......

You only build a bike when you make your own engine as Britten (the Kiwi) did.

It was a motor that Rod Hunwick built from scratch......with help from the Hallam boys........their own design, it is a shame that the expected road-based model was never released on the market......

Bad timing more than anything and a few people issues. Timing mainly though. In order to go mass production, they needed capital. And loads of it. So the only way was to float the company. just prior to the float, the stock market crashed! the project was iced and remains that way. The issues with reviving it now are large, as the entire thing would have to be re-engineered with future ADR requirements in place. As such without the continual developement it's a white Elephant now! :)
