i aint no wheelie expert , i need plenty more practice again . but i have in the past done some respectable wheelies , only getting back into another sports bike {ZRX1200R} i feel i rather do plenty of small wheelies & get it right . than one big wheelie & stuff up .
p.s. check out this link great advise & from a wheelie expert on a ZRX1200S ..

Forget power-ups, if you want to control a wheelie, use the clutch!

And that's the touring version of the ZRX!
The R model has about 5kg less over the front end.

not from my experience, i find power ups much easier - then again thats why i have 117K on the original clutch......and the nine does nice power ups IMHO.
as i havent ridden the new zrx12 yet - god damn injuries

.....i cant comment on it, BUT the modded zrx11 i had for 6 months was easy to do them from 1500 rpm - yep 1500 rpm......
i may have done a good one here and there but are by no means an expert

Power-ups are less scary, that's for sure, but once you learn to clutch it up consistently that method offers a lot more control and a greater flexibility in the rev range and through the gears. Plus you can get the wheel higher faster, so you can find the balance point at a lower speed.
