Randy update

Well....... Randy's been found. I got a call yesterday from a Snr Sargeant Wedding to tell me that he'd been involved in a fatal accident on 3 April at Marsden, QLD.

The Accident Investigation Squad is still investigating but I should be able to have him back early next week. Apparently he's pretty messed up.

Link to police press release:
http://www.police.qld.gov.au/News+and+A ... arsden.htm

It bugged me when it got reported in the papers that "a 36-yr old man died when he came of HIS motorcycle in Coolmunda St, Marsden".

His motorcycle my ass. Randy most likely spat the dummy and wanted his Mum back and threw him off.... Thieving scum. It's pretty gruesome poetic justice.

I went out to Marsden yesterday to look at where it happened and spoke to a few of the neighbours. The corner was the smoothest, widest dream of a corner - about 110 degrees - approx. 130m down from the start of a residential street. There's an enormous chunk of cement out of a gutter box on the left side gutter, just after the halfway point of the corner. Then there's tyre grooves in the lawn and a big oval chunk out of the lawn where I'd say Randy came down. It looks to me like the guy didn't even try and make the corner. He could've been doing 200 and still made that corner if he tried to turn it in, but where he's hit the curb it looks like he just freaked out and bailed. Randy would've done whatever you asked of him.

One of the neighbours said she saw "a big black bike upside down with it's front completely compacted". He had stolen plates on at the time of the crash. I'm scared of having to look at him like that. I know there'll be tears.

I would rather have never seen him again and hoped he was having a happy life and being ridden by someone who could ride him properly, rather than have to go pick him up on a trailer with someone else's blood on my conscience.

I'll post pics when they release him next week.

Well if he stole it then Karma just bit his arse BIG TIME! if he was an innocent party (on a stolen bike with stolen plates?) then sympathy to him ... and sympathy to his family regardless!

Given that she's described the chunk the bike took out of the concrete gutter as "enormous", I hazard a guess this bike will be a contender for the "Most Hideously Bent Frame" and "Most Horribly Buckled Front Wheel of 2007" awards, currently held by Seraph's 636.

Randy fights back!

kind of sad you got him back under these circumstances, but what that numb nuts did on him is nothing to do with you. you shouldn't have anything on your conscience.
Think of it as a poor effort at a darwin award.

Sad news Bobbi and hopefully this is justice for a scumbag bike thief and not some poor wannabe rider who was duped.
