Looks crap because of jerks like this, they really are anoying

Especialy the ones that post porn links consistantly! I don't blame Race rep. besides how do you stop them, sit an watch every post that goes up or do you submit to a higher authority for approval to become a member. Surely all the Admins have better things to do than screen members before they are allowed to join.
Sorry, just pisses me off.

That's probably the only way to stop them. On another forum with this in place we have one guy doing this job. It does make the place much tidier and means you don't have to clean up the spam
after they get in.

An easy fix is to use 'distorted image' verification.

We already have the "distorted images" verification and they still join.
We are now, and have been for the last month, making all users admin approved.
ppl can join and there username comes up at the bottom as a new member but they cannot post until there membership has been approved by the admin. We delete the ones with suspicious names, links and the like..
We have removed about 180 in the last couple of months..
It takes a lot of time but we have at least stopped the arseholes from posting..

there are sites like getafreelancer.com, you can pay an indian $30 ($30 is a weeks wages over there) and get him to post to 2000 forums. Image verification only takes care of bots, doesn't help with real people.
Admin though is just a matter of dumping users from the database, not the real ones of course.
you will also find a lot of posts in the introduce yourself sections, this is generally where you can find out all about viagra and other drugs

i guess another way of controlling is to have many moderators they they can view and delete any inappropiate posts then send the user names to admin
