Leathers marking paintwork????

Has anyone here had dull rub marks on their paintwork, on the the tank area from leathers?
I went for a half day ride on the weekend with new leathers, got home & saw dull rub marks on the side of the tank where my legs were.

Took a bit to polish out.
In that area on the IXON Iguane pants there is also that stretchy cordura stuff, so I dont know if its that or the leather causing the marks

Is this a normal thing & what can you do to prevent it?

apparently the 12's have a really soft paint
you can buy a clear contact to cover it, also a GCC tank protector that covers that area as well..

i agree go the velvet suit....................my pants rub the paintwork too
suzuki have strategically put stickers on areas of high rubbing but ya still get them appearing elsewhere.
the joys of trying to keeping a bike in tip top condition.
start blingin it with sponsor decals in the rubbing areas.........
at least it wont br scratched then

I have had the same problem with my leathers scuffing the paint.
Go to AutoBarn or Supacheap Auto and get 'Body Skinz' for motorbikes. It is a clear contact adhesive that protects the paintwork. It is awful to apply (use LOTS of soapy water and it will slide into place) but has worked well on both of my bikes.

Sounds normal - I live with it. My bike is for riding, not for showing off at the coffee shop. You're not riding a Ducati are you?

Mine is for riding too... but it is my favourite thing in the world and keeping it looking beautiful is a priority. (You should see my cage...DISGUSTING!)
