Hey everyone.
I am going on a run to Kyogle on Sunday. Just wondering whether any of you have done the ride and what you thought of it?
It is probably an 8- 10 hour round trip from my place ( a sore butt on the way  Lucky Monday is a day off work for me! )

Which route are you taking BM? Are you heading south to Murwillumbah and then south west to Kyogle, or are you heading through Beaudesert, Rathdowney, Mt Lindsay H'way twisties (yummy!) and down the Summerland Way, or Beaudesert & Lions Rd?

Brisbane - Beaudesert 70kms
Beaudesert - Rathdowney 30 kms
Rathdowney to Kyogle 80kms

If that round trip takes you 8 hrs I would be VERY surprised, unless you have a liquid lunch or something! The roads are generally good, there are a couple of dodgy sections this side of the border, so take it easy there. Through this side of the border, the corners are marked with speed indicators, but the road surface can be rough, the other side of the border is a good road surface but no corner speed indicators.

That is the best route to take, well the most fun anyway! Coming home you can either come back the same way, head N-E to Murwillumbah, or come up the Lions Rd.

Quite a nice ride either way. There is some Pretty Bumpy bits either way from Rathdowney.
Have fun.

Thanks Esie and Pontikat.
Everyone has said that the roads are a little dodgey in places.
Hope to make it home in one piece to post a report... don't know if I am scared or excited?!

You'll be right just make sure Jonno doesn't go for the "Reacharound" on "Rough as Guts Racetrack" & everything will be "ticketyboo" :)
