The AMA superbikes in the US are getting underway at Daytona (the yanks proposed "home of motorsport". What a joke!) this weekend. In the only event that really matters, the Supersport race, Team Kawi takes up 3 of the 4 front row spots with Jamie Hacking in pole, Roger-Lee Hayden in second and Aussie gun Ben Attard in 4th. Steve Rapp is 7th on another Kwak. Seems team green is gonna tear em a new one with the new ZX6R.

Yeah after seeing Feret I'm hoping '07 will turn things around... It was only 1 race... but who knows...
We can only live in hope.

Kawasaki own Supersport in the US. Hopefully the 08 ZX10R can do for Kawi's superbike program what the new 6 is gonna do for it's supersport program.

Whats this zoidberg you have no faith in the goshow for the oz supers, he just went out on the bike for the fourth time and set the fastest lap for the aus superbikes for the whole weekend.
I must be a fan hey.

Plenty of faith in the Go-Show, Barrabob, just not a lot of faith in his bike to put him up front where he belongs. Til the new 10 next year of course!

I am a fan of Goey myself but his best time all weekend was 1:36.3 and the leaders were in the high 1:34 range.
Thats what the results say anyway unless there was testing after the event.

Also you may want to look into the history of the Daytona bike races, it used to be the start of the racing season worldwide and a lot of big names went there.
It leaves our race meetings for dead, not just 2 or 3 days like ours but a full week of races of all different classes and vintage of bikes.
I was hoping to be there racing but some times life just doesnt work out for ya.

Streachy's right. Daytona is not just a bike race it is an institution. The thing is like what Phillip Island used to be like in Cowes only 1000 times bigger and it lasts for the week. It is a complete freak show on the streets with all kinds of wierd looking shit happening.
Also along with the supersport Kawasaki won the Pro supercross with James Bubba Stewart and won the pro lites with "Kiwi" Ben Townley.
All in all a good week from the green bikes.
